Yuck, I just had to reinstall Windows 11.
I deleted the partitions of my "old" Windows m.2 drive which I used for Windows 10 and upgraded to 11 on it not too long ago.
The drive had those partitions which were locked so some had to go through an override command in diskpart to be able to be deleted. And yea.. Windows didnt boot anymore after that.
Appearently the EFI of my old boot drive was still in use by the install of W11.
So yea... complete reinstall, really annoying. Now I see W11 created another… See More
EFI on my 2nd 980 Pro so for now i'll leave it like this. Next time I'm reinstalling I'm removing all my drives except the one I am installing on. For a smart program it's really kinda dumb.
Yes, seen advice to do that, disconnect all drives except the one you are installing to.
Though often more for reason of being clear to which drive you are installing to.
Though I had that same problem once with Windows 10 doing the same.
Made me reliant on a failing HDD.
Can't recall now if I moved the partition successfully, or had to do a reinstall.
I certainly did look into options for moving it.
