I'd say it's from game to game different. Basicly I play 2 different types of games. Fast paced MultiPlayer type FPS's and Single Player Open World 1st and 3rd person RPG Shooter such asSkyrim, Fallout, or Far Cry. Motivation is for me good game mechanics & physics, with fairly good graphics and textures. And a story that won't make me pull out the last few hairs I have left on my head. Another aspect is that I want a game that I won't throw into a corner after half a hour gameplay... long term… See More

motivation is very important, and if it's worth playing more than once. That's what I look for when I'm looking for a new game.

The only reason i buy games is too support the creators. I even buy games which i enjoyed playing as a kid on ps1 but i had a pirated copy. I just feel like i have to support them so they will keep making great games. That's all.

I know it sounds curt, and maybe thoughtless, but honestly, if a game looks interesting to me, I'll buy it. The other motivating factor is games that are in development that I think will turn into something great. I like supporting up-and-coming games when I can. Not to mention franchises that I like. Gotta love franchises.

It's a mix of Genre, Graphics, and interest in the game itself. Plus impulse buying makes a big factor in it. Then there is the fact that I might want to join many of my friends in playing something so completely new that most people have never heard of it and we all try it out together.

The only right answer in my opinion is enjoyment, I have to really love what I see in reviews, video and written. The game has to really drag me in to its world and make me able to see the game as it was meant to be, when funds are tight (like always) a game has to be much more than just another game I need to know I'll enjoy it!

Interest is what motivates me into purchasing a game, I will purchase a game if it meets the genre I am interested in, or generally is part of a series of various games that I am interested in.

I buy games for entertainment.

What motivates me to purchase a game is all about mind boggling quests, puzzles, adventures, stunning graphics and uniqueness because most of my gamer friends tend to play the mainstream ones and do not want to ever focus on these kinds of games.
