I prefer games that are unique, but offer stable and polished gameplay. If I suspect a game will not live up to the hype, I will avoid it.

Entertainment basically, but it can not be put into a single and simple word just like that. For me the entertainment means that I enjoy the gameplay, mechanics, storyline and characters. If it is a competitive game, I give more emphasis on mechanics and playability, if it's an RPG, storyline and character development. All these mixed in perfectly are what motivates me to buy a game... regardless of price sometimes.

That's easy, for the most part its the thought of the fun that I would have playing it with friends.

Well, it's very dependable. First, I look at the genre of the game. Then the story. Then the price and availability of physical and digital copies, retail will be preferred pretty much everytime. After I establish all these, I will then move on to buy the game. What really motivates me though is the chance to leave this world, even for one hour and travel somewhere else, be anybody else and save the world from those nasty racoons!

Price but mostly how interested am I in the game, how good does it look, will my system run it and what kind of reviews it gets. One thing is also the reputation of the company producing it.

Since i don't have a lot of money for games, i always buy games that produce the most hype, and those that truly are awesome and will bring me many joy that i just can't resist buying them and will do whatever it takes to collect the cash

id have to say Mostly Graphics, and what the game is , and if its on special or not, so price has a big impact, but in saying that i have pre ordered project cars, so if the game is worth it we will pay full price no questions asked, but not on crap like the latest ubisoft blunders, fix the game BEFORE its Released

There are a lot of motivations to why/when I purchase a game. Firstly the type of game plays a key factor as I love playing strategy games and RPGs. What also influences my choice to buy a game is my experience with prior titles by developer and also what kind of game I am wanting to play. A good example is my experience with The Witcher series which is the only game I am willing to preorder due to how much fun I have gotten out of it.
