Launched about a month ago GIF's have become a popular choice of chat images on BEAM. About 20,000 of them have been shared to date.

Want your own GIFs to show up in BEAM chat? Upload a GIF to Klipy at klipy.com, then give it a clear, searchable name and tag. Also you can turn a video into a GIF at Klipy. Once they’re available on Klipy, search for them from BEAM chat and share them with the community.
