So I gotta say this was a fascinating video to watch.

Bottom line: Basically there is a flaw specific with iPhone and Visa cards that can make it easy for someone to force approve low and high value transactions with tap to pay. What is more fascinating about that is the high value transaction specifically that should require more security scrutiny just is bypassed. But the trick seemingly impossible, is actually more like improbable from day-to-day currently,… See More

not impossible though. Right circumstances in right settings and getting 5 successes out of 30 attempts is still 5 too many.

It obviously has me thinking though why when they explain, Samsung I believe has their own tap system in place so one shouldn't assume that its just Samsung wallet is the same as Android's google wallet. But had they figured this out entirely and just make sure the flaw can't simply work? And more importantly, since Garmin is entering the fray more from an alleged statistical standpoint, COULD this work with Garmin Watches or had they figured out the security issue, but just won't be approved by the many banks out there?

Both fascinating, and scary.
Convenience has costs, and that often includes security.
