I wouldn't have a whole quail again. Too much hassle to get the meat off. I'd also change the recipe for the potatoes to more suit my taste. Less stock for one! Still, I tried.

Looks fancy... but you're right quail are so tiny that it makes it difficult to get to the meat. Last time I had quail was in British Columbia at a vineyard in Kelowna in the Okanagan valley. I had delicious lunch and then took a walk around the property and noticed a mama quail with her chicks... I felt bad about eating these cute little birdies. Was the last time for me.

You never know if you don't try.
Certainly a lot of foods are way too fussy to be worth the effort or cost IMO.
