I bought Mindseye in a recent sale on Steam and I have to say that I really don't see what the extreme negativity is about. Idiots on the internet tried to claim this was a GTA killer when it's not even close to being a GTA game. I have a feeling they drew these strange conclusions from the trailers; always a silly way to rate a game.
The story is entertaining, if a little sloppy in places, but it does the job. It felt like there was supposed to be more interaction between some characters at some… See More
point to make close relationships more believable and perhaps it was cut.
The run and gun gameplay and the driving is enjoyable, but nothing that hasn't been done better before. The driving sections could've been fleshed out more since a lot of them require long distances with very little scripted gameplay whilst you drive, but doing handbrake turns at high speed was fun!
The game looked beautiful (if a little sparse), and the sound at least knew where things were and let you know which direction bad guys were coming from (a sin many bigger budget games have committed).
Overall I’d say the experience was more like a series of mini games around the main story, with varied degrees of success in how BARB pulled it off.
I certainly don’t think this game deserves the hate it gets. Get it on sale, jump in and drive around and shoot some things and have fun without being a negative ninny.
I can't say how much work has been put into this game since it came out, but I can imagine it was buggy at the start. There are still numerous visual bugs in the game, but only silly things that you really must look for.
Overall I’d say my usual: Enjoy things for what they are, not what you want them to be.

Game on my wishlist, but no plans on getting it soon, never did plan on getting it early, nor go by negative trolls, I liked what I saw in trailers and gameplay videos, GTA it isn't, not even close, looked closer to cyberpunk 2077 in style if you ask me, not quite, but closer than to GTA.
I'm gonna get it and try it eventually, I'm reserving judgment until I try myself.
