Ordered an openbox Creative Soundblaster AE-5 at Amazon.
It arrived today, box was missing things which was not mentioned in the listing, it only was listed as "damaged box" because they put the adresslabel of the person or persons that previously ordered it on it, when peeling off it created damage.
But, it's a box, in this case I would not be mad about it, but missing items in the box, regardless if I use them or not, is a nono.
So I just jumped back on Amazon, now ordered an openbox Soundblaster… See More
AE-7, hope this time I'm more lucky. it's not wise to spend money now with a fridge that needs to be paid. But the muffled onboard audio.. .when you are used to better it's really hard to step down. It does sound better then a few generations ago but it doesn't even come near the crisp quality of a discrete soundcard.
Too bad you had this experience, the AE-5 is actually a wonderful sound card I have it, but honestly, my sister mostly uses it since my headset with Dolby Atmos for Headphones just sounds so much better than the AE-5, even with a dedicated 5.1 surround PC speakers system, probably due to the fact they're pretty badly positioned, but I work with what I have, not what I don't.
I do hope your AE-7 order come in okay, I'm sure it's even better than the AE-5, Hope the price was cheaper than a new unopened… See More
one because those cost a small fortune in relation to sound hardware, otherwise I'd have one myself.
