Well ok then. It seems M.A.S.S. Builder 1.0 launch is.... tonight. Weird. I honestly can't say I have too much excitement
Like I'll play it potentially to the end since I kickstarted it, but lets be real. The game was kickstarted in 1st half of 2019. The game was scheduled to give beta keys in the 2nd half of that year. Mechs is already a niche game topic due to its popularity being quite low in the West, also partially that the mech genre in the West usually refer to Mechwarrior and anything… See More

else outside of that would be Japan. The way they thought, it would be launched in December of 2019 in Early Access. That... didn't go so well.
In fact, it went through several revisions. The game was made slightly slower, devs did somewhat listen to the community and changed the stat system to be a "make it whatever you want rather than being confined to the part's limitation" and introduced other strange mechanics. They changed the art style for the story. The game went through 2 upgrades to Unreal Engine and if 1.0 launches tonight after not having another testing version in many months, it is possible it will have the newer Unreal Engine which breaks a few things it seems from the community standpoint. But also, there is a possibility that we won't have the reverse joint legs so everything is purely humanoid biped walk. Nor would we have the spider-leg walk unless its getting a sneak in feature. We were given about 16 story missions + several non-story mission stuff which includes time attacks, point scoring, and raids.
We did however get Multiplayer, we did get export/import mechs and designs via the workshop, we can virtually make just about anything that is humanoid biped. But we are in 2025 at roughly 6 years anniversary since beta keys launched. We would be getting at least 4 more story missions to round out 20... the story would be overall short, and would be proven that it was primarily about making mechs which would have to make justification about the price tag of $25 given that was the cost since the early access launch.

I want to be excited, but even the community for it is only coming back right now to primarily finish it. It makes me think this was too big for the team even after being part of Sekai Project for the publishing. I guess I should be holding judgement until it launches?

Supposedly will be in 0h 0m 0s (6 PM Pacific, 9 PM Eastern)

Two possibles, it starts bad and stays bad.
True perhaps of most games.
They might pull a No Mans Sky, and start bad but really put the effort in, and come out with a much better game, even if it takes quite a while to do that.
