Upgrades coming for my PC. Should happen this week. One last part to purchase and everything important in there will be top-notch in my mind.
Existing Case: I've never been able to find out if it's a standard CoolerMaster case or one they made special for CyberpowerPC.
New Motherboard: MSI X470 Gaming Plus, to replace the MSI 760GM-P34(FX). I hope the X470 mounts in the case. It's exactly the same dimensions as the 760GM. All the new parts are to go on this. Several existing parts will be transferred… See More
to this.
If it won't mount, I'll have to buy a case - or find one in the heap downstairs that my stepson and his friend left.
New CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700 3.0GHz (3.7GHz Turbo). It seems odd to be going down to 86% clock speed (the FX-8320 is 3.5GHz), but there are things the Ryzen 7 can do that the FX-8320 can't. I doubt I'll notice any difference in anything I do. Assuming the X470 mounts, the case is plenty wide enough for the Ryzen 7 and the Spire cooler.
My Used GPU: Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX580 8GB GDDR5. Transfer from 760GM. In service only a couple of months.
New RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 SDRAM 2666 (PC4 21300).
That sounds great! if you post a pic of the case on here, i'm sure someone could identify it.
