Fan Pages Can Now Boost Posts

As the number of Fan Pages increases, so does the total number of unique status updates, which have surpassed 20,000 per month. To allow Pages an opportunity to gain News Feed visibility we've introduced post boosting for status updates. Boosting is a social media term for a paid system of enhancing the chance of fans seeing a post generated by a Page.

Here's how it works on GTribe:

(1) When you post a status update you'll now see a "Boost" button.
(2) Clicking the button… See More

allows you to select the audience you want to reach.
(3) The cost of boosting a post for 24 hours is $15 for Fan Pages.
(4) Only credit/debit cards are currently accepted for the boosting service.
(5) You can optionally store your credit card, so boosting selection is faster next time.
(6) After the boost ends you will receive a notification with a link to the enhanced analytics.

Boosted posts are identified as Promoted. Members who do not want to see boosted posts from a particular page can select “Hide Promoted Posts from FAN PAGE NAME” in the status update's drop-down menu.

Such a great tool. I love seeing this added to the GTribe experience. Gtribe is for everyone, including tech/gaming oriented publications, organisations, and companies. I'd absolutely love to see more fan page material this way —

Is there going to be some sort of notification like Google does sponsored search results so you know the post was boosted and not a natural search result?

Price completely reasonable I think and hopefully be in a position to use the service one day. —

Reading some of the replies and in my opinion, this is quite cheap. I have almost 2000 friends and could boost to them and all their friends which would be awesome! I also understand that this community is in no way bombarded by advertisements so to keep the growing community going, it takes sponsors, UX, and LUX members. This is not Facebook which is led by greed. It is a fellowship that just keeps growing and requires financial maintenance and does not build revenue like other social sites. If… See More

you don't like it, don't do it. Simple. I will be trying it out soon. Can't wait!

sorry if this comment will seem harsh, in the recent months of development at GTribe all i saw was money stuff, pay for this, pay for that, not long ago i asked why gtribe doesn't provide anymore new game offers, i did receive an answer but it was not concrete, not putting hate infact i love this community, it's way better than many other social media places and am thankful to be part of it, I am very much aware of the expensive cost to run the community but my main concern is there's no… See More

more new game offers.Members are giving but isn't getting much in return, it should be mutual, benefits from both side. It's becoming quite boring. Now on the main post here, the price could have been within a range for example, $5, $10, $15, $20 each for a certain amount of audience and time. beside this i'm happy the constant improvement done in general.

Where will it show the boosted post — on the fan page's feed or on all fan's feeds? Will it be at the top of the feed or just kind of floats throughout the feed? —
