Net Neutrality... here is how I, and Trump, see it. Competition breeds the best service. This is simple economic fact that can not be disputed.
Ok, without Net Neutrality, you do get service providers throttling content of certain types. But what does this cause you to do? Switch service providers. And then those providers will eventually learn why people switched, thus causing them to make them better. So you switch again. Then they start price wars with each other trying to get you to switch… See More
to them. It will take a few years, but eventually, you end up getting the best service for a far lower price than you are paying today.
I remember switching telephone services left and right in the 90's and getting hundreds of dollars of free calls every time I switched. Now, it is just one small flat rate for long distance in the US. This is just like that.
From what I have gleamed through other sites, is that people, especially in the UK, are amazed at what we pay for Internet service here in the US. While we, not knowing anything different, don't realize how much we are paying. I have no clue about the world's Net Neutrality laws, but it sounds like most places pay far less than the US and this shouldn't be the case. This is because Net Neutrality was passed to begin with... and thus eliminated competition and skyrocketed fees.
When the phone companies were deregulated, phone services/calls costs dropped immediately and quality/service went through the roof.
The fools having a fit currently have absolutely zero facts to back their feigned outrage.
The facts & history are on Trumps side.

I don't think it will breed competition because many areas only have a single provider to choose from. In adition if isp's seem to only loose out in this deal why would they invest so much in seeing net neutrality gonne.

Switching providers works when there are actually the options to do so.
I am in the UK, so suffer less from what I hear in the US is often very restricted or sometimes even no other choices in a given region.

It won't work like that i think. For instance, here in my place some local providers offer connections for $6/month. Still I am gladly taking services of $20/month from different ISP cause of their service quality. Price can be reduced but quality might not be same or better.

There was competition back then and more investments. Here's what happened when US had Net Neutrality: www.freepress.net/sites/default/files/… (clarification, I havnt read the whole report yet)
Here's what the future supposedly holds: motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/qvz…

Net neutrality did not cause the increase of prices, greedy corporations and people paying what they asked did.
We have unrestricted and open internet in this country without throttling or data limits or any of the stuff that you say is caused by having a neutral internet.
Yet I pay considerably less for my 500MB fiber connection complete with a full digital TV package and telephone than a lot of people pay in the US for a quarter the speed I have.
This is nothing to do with net neutrality and everything… See More
to do with there being no regulating body, like ofcom in the UK, that steps in and controls pricing.

It's not just the ISPs that will be throttling, you forget there's backbone providers too. Companies that want the fast lane like Netflix will likely make up the difference by raising monthly subscriptions. It won't matter what ISP you have in that case. But what if you play WoW (or other favorite MMO) and they don't jump on the fast lane? It may make your game unplayable. That would suck if you pay for a premium internet connection and not get the bandwidth. Because it's not just you, the… See More
end user, that will have to shop for a new provider, businesses will have as well. We at home don't get to pick what provider WoW, Steam, Netflix, Youtube, Twitch, and all the things we use choose as their provider.

i disagree. I believe the end of Net Neutrality will allow big ISP's to act more like crack dealers than web providers. ("oh, you need 40 more websites? That'll be $400)
