Greetings GTribers!
A Greedy Miner's Story
Once upon a time there was this guy who joined the mining craze. He went from store to store to hoard up all gpus. Like any greedy and heartless miner will do, he bought all the Nvidia and AMD cards.
Miner: Gimme all your gpus! I will buy them all!
Store Owner: Ok
The Store Owner sold the cards at the right price and the miner greedily took them all. While he was busy putting the cards inside his vehicle, a number of customers went into the store and in a few… See More
minutes came out the store and said...
Customer 1: This is bad. No more gpus.
Customer 2: It is bad. My gpu just died and I need a new one! What now?
Customer 3: Yeah. I too want to upgrade my gpu so I can enjoy the new games. Sad times indeed.
Miner: Hahahahaha! (Laughs at them while proudly showing his supply of cards).
A month later, the miner went back hoarding the cards again from store to store.
Miner: Gimme all your gpus! I will buy them all!
Store Owner: Prices for the video cards have increased due to mining. Availability is also a problem. I only have a few that arrived.
Miner: I don't care. Gimme! (Greedily, while he was at it).
Store Owner: I can only sell two per customer so others can have them too.
Miner: No problem. I don't care about your other customers so give me those two!
The miner got his two cards but wily as ever, he quickly contacted his closest friends. He gave each of his friends the money so they can buy two video cards per person secretly for him. True enough, the miner still hoarded all the video cards. While he was busy putting the cards inside his vehicle, a number of customers went into the store and in a few minutes came out the store and said...
Customers: Oh no! Video card prices are rising and still no supply!
Miner: Hahahahaha! (Laughs at them while proudly showing his supply of cards again).
Another month passed and something changed. The mining craze is dying. The miner went back to the store and tried to sell back all his gpus hoping to recover from his financial losses out of mining.
Miner: Hey, I am selling these now but at a higher price since they are still priced online more than their original prices.
Store Owner: No. Why would I buy second-hand gpus priced more than I sold them brand new for? Are you crazy?
Miner: How about you guys? Interested? (At the other customers)
Customers: Hahahahaha! You can keep your overpriced, second-hand, and mining-abused gpus for yourself!
And another month passed. With new stock of gpus becoming available at their original store prices, everyone was happy except for the greedy miner. The mining craze died so he had to sell those that he have at dirt cheap prices. He is still recovering from his losses today.
...and they lived happily ever after. Except for the greedy miner, that is.
Game on!
Good read, I think it is important for the gaming community to inform new comers to watch out for the greedy miner cards cause it may cost more for replacements when the abused card dies.
