Back in February we added a special GTribe Easter egg into our game Please, Don't Touch Anything 3D. GTribe held a contest to see who could solve the Easter egg puzzle first. The winner was Jeremy Simmons. We had an opportunity to chat with Jeremy and ask him a few questions.
*1) We know you're busy traveling for work so thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to answer a few questions. You have been a member of the GTribe community since mid 2013. How did you hear about… See More
GTribe and in your opinion what makes GTribe different from other social media networks?*
Like many folks, I initially joined GTribe because of the amazing hardware giveaways but found myself coming back more often because of the amazing community here. GTribe is a unique community, especially since it's primarily devoted to tech and gaming, where inclusion and positive attitudes are the norm instead of the exception. It's that attitude and overall just amazing vibe I have always gotten from this community that keeps me coming back and keeps me supporting the community via my UX GOD Mode subscription.
*2) What was your experience with Please, Don't Touch Anything 3D? Did you solve all 30 endings? How about Easter eggs?*
It is a very simple game to figure out the basics, but once you figure that out, there is so much to interact with in the game which makes it very enjoyable and engaging. My older kids actually love helping me try and solve some of the puzzles for the different endings. Currently I think I have about 15 of the 30 endings solved. I got sidetracked for completing the rest as I've been playing more The Witcher and Total War: Warhammer lately, but I will return and finish the rest of the endings soon. As far as Easter eggs, the only one I've found so far is the GTribe Easter egg. From working on some of the other puzzles I figured there was a Ghostbusters Easter egg in there somewhere but haven't figured it out yet.
*3) You were the first to post that you had solved the special GTribe Easter egg we added into Please, Don't Touch Anything 3D and congratulations on doing so. We found it particularly interesting that the solution came to you while watching Super Bowl LI. How did that come about?*
Thank you it was lots of fun figuring it out! I didn't see the original post about the GTribe Easter egg initially, just saw posts from others on GTribe trying to figure it out, so initially I was somewhat overthinking the solution. I had been working on figuring out the Easter egg for about 2 days prior to Super Bowl Sunday to no avail. I didn't see the original post until the night before and didn't even think the solution might be a mnemonic phrase instead of an actual phone number. I had spent the previous couple of days scouring the Internet for any phone numbers I could find related to GTribe and Escalation Studios, thinking it might be some sort of support number. During that time, I must commend GTribe and Escalation Studios on their security since neither of you make it extremely easy to find an actual phone number for your offices.
I finally saw the original post with the clue that ultimately helped me solve the puzzle the night before the Super Bowl, right before I went to bed. That was when it dawned on me that I may not be looking for a phone number to solve the solution but instead I may need to enter a 10-character word or phrase. I spent some time the morning of Super Bowl Sunday trying to figure it out but couldn't figure it out, so I decided to put it to rest for a bit and proceeded to consume a few adult beverages and have fun with the family for the evening. My wife and I were having a random conversation about something when something triggered in my brain and I realized what the solution was. I won't reveal it here as I'm not super fond of spoilers so I don't want to ruin it for anyone trying to figure out the solution. If anyone wants help or more clues, just shoot me a message and I'll be happy to lend a hand if you want.
I love solving puzzles, especially ones that no one has solved before in a game or pretty much anywhere. I'm an IT professional by trade so essentially I solve problems and puzzles for a living when designing and maintaining complex computing systems. Gaming and building computers has always been a hobby of mine and solving complex problems in a game is actually relaxing to me and the activity I tend to choose that as my go-to activity when I need to de-clutter my brain after a trying day.
I look forward to playing many more games from Escalation Studios and can't wait to see what you have in store for the future! Fun fact that I learned while chatting with Mr. Angel Munoz after solving the puzzle, the 81,493 number that you are in line on the hold queue is actually the number of pre-registrations that were already received for the Rising Force Giveaway when the Easter egg was coded into the game.
Very good
