We are pleased to announce Sift™ our new technology that highlights a sequence of related replies nested under a Status Update comment.
When a comment has several threads of replies you can use Sift to obscure the unrelated replies so you can easily track the specific thread that you are interested in following. Sift works best on comments with lots of replies and conversation forks.
To use Sift go to any comment with lots of replies, and click Sift on the text links under the reply. If the reply… See More
thread has forks you will see some replies obscured and unfocused, while the related replies stay in focus.
This new easy-to-use technology should help GTribers filter through comment replies that receive a large number of replies and are physically separated by unrelated ones.
this sounds like it will get used a lot

That's a pretty cool feature.

Is SIFT = Scale-Invariant Feature Transform ?
Or standard definition of "examine (something) thoroughly so as to isolate that which is most important or useful"

The picture reminds me of the New York style crumb coffee cake I made yesterday, with powdered sugar sifted on to the brown sugar and cinnamon crumb topping.. Unfortunately I can't share my sift experience with all of my GTribe friends.
