Earlier I posted about the result of Sequential operations result on Intel 750 series PCIe NVMe 400GB SSD using IOMeter. You can read that post at:

Continuing with the software, the remaining parameter tests have been performed.
4K Random Read
4K Random Write
Rated speed on 4K Random Read by Intel is 430,000 IOPs
Tested speed on 4K Random Read is 442887.68 IOPs
Rated speed on 4K Random Write by Intel is 230,000 IOPs
Tested speed on 4K Random Write is 237842.43 IOPS [First Run]
Tested speed on 4k Random Write is 220222.24 IOPs [Second Run]
Observations:
While the drive does perform exceptionally well at 4k Random Read and crossed the rated speed by the manufacturer, it suffers at 4k Random Write operations. I almost spent 8 hours on 4k Random Write to figure it out with various configurations like running the queue with 32/64 and increasing/decreasing the workers with disk span of 8GB/16GB/32GB. No single config gives me optimal result unfortunately.
Conclusion:
I have come across my people complaining that Intel's mentioned figures on the literature of these drives is not correct and they were not able to confirm these speeds. This lured me in testing the speeds on the drive and I'm confidently saying that drive not only meets the rated speeds but crossed them. One really needs to know the correct tools and parameters to work on it or infact on any other drive for testing purpose.
.Intel 750 SSD is truly a beast drive giving the consumers, performance level of enterprise drives. It has impressive Sequential and Random read/writes. But it has one caveat to it and that is the latency. While the latency was good at Sequential operations, it was definitely high when it comes to the Random operations. But this thing is hidden from the naked eye and can't be judge so easily. My test with putting uncompressed media of high size and doing operations on it was a easy piece of task for the drive and it almost excels in all four areas. Drive is highly recommended if the wallet allows.
These tests were run on this bench config:
i7 6700k @ 4.00 GHz
16 Gigs G.Skill TridentZ DDR4 @ 2133 MHz [No XMP]
Asus Maximus VIII Hero
James Bryant, Erwin Klein Haneveld, Ivan Marijanović, Anastasios Fotiadis, Alexander Bocquel
Nice!
