Barry we do not use the mobile vs desktop site protocol. How you see the site is predicated exclusively on the size and dimensions of your screen.
It's does work on android but only on some devices, phone screens are too small to properly display the bar but you can still receive voice and vid calls. My android kitkat tablet uses chrome and the side bar displays exactly the same way it does on the PC, try requesting the desktop site instead of mobile.
