Story, gameplay quality & aesthetics. Game has to have a well written story that feels natural and smooth (a storyline that feels forced or redundant doesn't play well in my book) as well as look and run well.

Graphics, gameplay, price, and uniqueness are important. I like the high quality graphics. Gameplay is also important. I'm not much of a fan of say, futuristic settings or MOBA games so I won't even try them. Price is also factored in depending on the game and type of game. While I don't mind paying $60-100 for a full fledged game like GTA5 or something that is really good, different, and unique, I wouldn't pay that much for a tycoon game, which brings me to uniqueness. $60 price for games that are constantly releasing identical sequels as if they're brand new games at the full $60 price (Call of Duty is a good example of this, and so is The Sims). All the tycoon games I find to essentially be the same as well, just different business types and such so I wouldn't pay a high price for them because they're simply not unique enough to be worth a whole lot.
