I am more inclined to buy games that I find enjoyable and interesting. I mostly buy indie games or from small studios as they are mostly the kind of games that I enjoy. I do buy games from big studios, mostly from studios like CD Projekt Red that do tend to keep it together and manage to deliver great products.

Honestly, I stay so busy with my growing family that I don't get to game much right now, but if 1> I find a game interesting 2> I can spare the money I will usually give it a shot. But honestly right now I need some major PC upgrades to truly appreciate many of the games currently out.

What honestly motivates me to purchase a game is not only one thing, but three
1.- the motivation from the dev team to listen their game community
2.- The potential of the game to get me hooked
3.- my friends opinion about that game
graphics are important but a bit overrated imo

The content. Content and gameplay. If these two elements are strong, it's a recipe for greatness.

I normally check out the gameplay first, before buying the game, while paying attention to graphics, story, can I play it with my friends, is it challenging etc.

If it is a new game, and it looks interesting, I read everything and look at every video I can find that shows what the game will be about and try not to get too many spoilers. After that I make a desicion to buy it or not. Price really doesn't matter if it's a game I really will enjoy. If it's a game that has been out for a while I mostly go by price since I'm like many others... a game hoarder. Buy it to play "later".
