Epic story and gameplay. The graphics DO NOT matter to me one bit. Can you say Half-Life? I re-downloaded the original just to experience it again. I also loved the Master Chief Collection on the Xbone and replayed it all on the OLD graphics for nostalgas sake. Those are my two biggest motivators. Depends, i guess? You could be either buying products for your own affection or to support a certain cause.

Usually it's the quality / price ratio, but for some exceptional games - the ability to play with others online.

I buy a game for a multitude of reasons, I love when a game has a solid offline and online features but a insanely good offline or online can compensate for the lack of the former a game with a great skill progress mechanic where you can feel yourself improving is really satisfying . And a rich story that feels similiar to a movie with really great atmosphere.
