I try to buy games that I think will hold my attention. I have a very hard time staying with games so I look for things I can jump into and play for a little bit and come back to later.

The feeling after you buy a game and it turns out to be awesome is beautiful. I mean having fun while supporting something is spirit lifting.

When I'm looking to buy a new game, it really comes down to the Devs, If they have a history of releasing unfinished games, only to sell $20-50 of day one DLC, I'll pass. On the other hand, if they support games, even after the player-base is almost nonexistent, that's the kind of people I support.
Obviously none of this even applies if a game doesn't catch my attention somehow, which isn't too hard.

Even though I mostly play fighters like Tekken Tag 2 and Streetfighter and Counter-Strike; I like a game that gives you many different feelings all rolled up into in one game! It has to have tons of action, strategy, timing. Its has to have great music and sound effects. It should have funny moments even if it makes me angry and frustrated sometimes. In-game customization also that's a big plus. The net-code MUST be top notch! And above all just plane FUN!!

Storylines, user reviews, graphics, system specs lol, and I also like to look at the game play trailer. I know that it is not actually footage in most parts, moreso CGI rendering of what it could look like, but, it gives a vague idea of what it could be.
That is what hooked me on Everquest 2 all those many years ago.

Depends on the game but because i like to give money if i see that a game deserves it and if i can't afford it i try to wait until the game is on sale so atleast i can give something to the company.

Does it look like fun? Do I have the money? If yes, I'll buy it.
