I prefer to play games that have great stories and have the ability to explore the areas in the game.

The storyline motivates me. If it looks like every other game it's a put down. I like to interact with a game and not just push a button over and over again doing the same thing!  

I buy games for the entertainment. I seek to have fun be it with rpg, rst, moba, etc
I enjoy so many diferent kinds because they bring me entertainment, so that is my reason for ever buying a game.

Prior experience with similar games. Story/campain is alpha omega. If the story sucks, it really needs great gameplay that can suck you into the game.

But to be honest. I have to say that sometimes, if friends bought a game and said they like it and it have multiplayer. I could buy it. I have done that way too many times for early access on steam. I have now stopped doing early access.

Most of the time it's about the story, there are a lot of sequels that I bought just to find experience the story once more. Some games just have the best story telling. I know when I get goosebumps or when I almost cry, buying the game was the right decision.

Gameplay, story, style. If i can happily imagine myself in a game and wish to be in it, then it's a good start. I'm replaying skyrim as well as dying light at the moment, they're so immersive   also, price plays a part in my final decision of whether to get the games I want.
