a combination of things effect whether Purchase a game.. Style of game... RPGs tend to get a huge look, then the universe.. and story.... Mass Effect Trilogy, the Witcher Trilogy. the universe of the game many times will nail it for me.... ala ME and Witcher also Bloodborn which has a great Ambiance.. also yes price will be a factor also depending on the game.. especially if i am on the fence.

The thing that motivates me the most to buy a game is either replay-ability or a good multiplayer . If I'm going to spend money on a game I want it to last as long as possible.

I purchase a game when I think that behind this game people put their day and night effort and if we didnt purchase it than the game developer industry will die one day and the people deserve to get some money for their great effort

One of two reasons ... It can be a game that is trully something special, with great gameplay, awesome story, remarkable characters and so immersive that I can lose myself in for days...or' just something that's so simple and casual that it can provide me countless hours of mindless fun :))

Just depends on the game quality/price.. or if a steam sale suckers me into buying excessive amounts of games that will take me ages to get to.

My motivation : developer's generosity, like The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Collector's Edition : expensive but contains much valuable physical contents, in that way it is not too expensive like other games collector edition contains 4-5 dlcs and a figure...i support CD Project RED with Witcher 1 and 2 and The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt will be my greatest expense to a pc game, CD Project RED deserves my support.

To be honest, back then I'm always pirating game, since I have no access of what soever to buy the original games(I don't have any access of decent internet back then and the only way to get the games is buying via physical content abroad from my country, and the taxes are pretty expensive for those things at that time), but some of those pirates, always said this "buy the game if you like this game!", and now, since Digital Era has begun and I have the access to buy the game (thanks to Steam), I'm… See More

looking the game that I played in the past, especially the one that I like(Like means I'm playing mostly > 24 hours for a game, and I feel it like 5 hours of game-play time   ), and now I have at least 20'ish titles on my library(and the list will be increased since some games are not yet completed), so if some of you still going pirate those games, I just want to say this "buy the game if you really like it!"

I am motivated by content and company quality. Generally I won't buy FPS games like Call of Duty or BF because I feel as though their content is not worth the money they ask for. A game like The Witcher 3 is right up my lane because it looks to have a large amount of content and the company is fairly transparent with their development process.
