I choose my games by how fun either the single player (or coop) campaign looks to be or how fun the multiplayer is. For example, the single player campaign in the Mass Effect series is why I have bought those games while the multiplayer in the base Battlefield series is extremely fun which is why I own them.

Honestly I rarely buy games. I usually wait until they're older and don't cost $60/game. When I do buy a brand new game I have to foresee myself playing at least that many hours and enjoying it, something that will be difficult/and or long and hopefully a good story. - Currently really looking forward to The Witcher 3.

Thanks for the awesome giveaway , ,most thing that motivates me to buy a game is supporting the developers if they have done their job right.

Value for Money. If one game is really good and its developer respect us (gamers) I would buy that game even in day-one.
In any other case, I can wait for a discount.

Games just always have a way of pulling me in, kind of hard to explain the feeling. Guess it's just always going to be there.

I'm usually motivated by price to satisfaction ratio. If I know I'm going to spend a lot of time playing a game then I'm willing to spend more money on it. It will weigh out the cost of the game. Games like Titanfall, Skyrim, Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4 have been ones that were well worth every penny.
