Motivation for purchasing games to me is a three step program.
#1: Price, if it's over 25 dollars I have a hard time justifying buying a game. The lower the price, the more likely I'll get it.
#2. Going with that, I only buy games when they are on sale. I learned my lesson with Skyrim in 2012, if you wait a few months you can save 15-40 bucks on a game. I bought Skyrim for 60 dollars and it went on sale for 29.99 the next week.
#3. How do my favorite youtube reviews/personalities like the game? If… See More

I wouldn't watch it, I wouldn't play it.
and lastly #4. If the game is 40 dollars, I think I should be provided with 40 hours of content. Another rule that came about my Skyrim purchase.
It's a struggle for me to buy games so I have to have a fool proof plan to stop myself! Haha

what motivates me to buy a game is the difficulty of the game because I really love a challenge. It takes me back to when I was a kid when a game is difficult to beat.

I like racing games with great speed and graphics. I have bought all 6 versions of papyrus Nascar Racing Series, and have found nothing that strikes my fancy since papyrus closed down.

A good plot (career for racing games), good gameplay, and I do like it to look good as well. Multiplayer has never bothered me unless it's something my wife will play, then a good lan co-op campaign is a big plus. Also these days a game gets more points if it plays nice with Crossfire and Eyefinity. And of course, the obvious elephant in the room.... when it comes on sale!

As being a guy who works in Game field.. I don't know what to say here... I mean my job is to make games stuff so yeah, when talking about games, the main thing to me is how the story and the Multiplayer, it doesn't matter how long the game is, the the story should be good enough to keep you playing it! and Multiplayer is the reason why people buy games most of the time!

I think, for me, it's both the story line and the gameplay in my chosen genre. I am a real big fantasy fan, so RPGs are generally my cup of tea.
