For a new game, it has to be the hype behind it. Dazzle me with some great in game trailers and I'm hooked. Sequels it's all about the enjoyment of the first game, I love continuing a story. Mass Effect and Witcher, I'm looking at you.

It depends a lot. Sometimes I check the gameplay, or see if I can play with my friends. If its a series I like (assassins creed, batman) I will check first with other users to see if this game is good or not. Finally if the game is good I'll buy it without hesitation, some games I'll wait longer for a discount.

The main thing that I want out of the games I buy, is the community of friend I have and talk to in game like BF4 and Diablo. Its the people that makes the game we are not in the 90's where solo gaming was all there was.

Lately I have found that I stick to games that I can play with my friends, such as league and endless legends; this means the multiplayer in games is one of the biggest draws. That being said, mindless shooting that you find in cod and other games of the same ilk are of little interest.
When it comes to hunting new games, I have a bad habit of initially being drawn in by interesting "box" art.

First thing I want from a game is a solid story. Then I look for the gameplay and in the 3rd place, the visuals.

there are several things that motivate me to buy a game, and at the same time it could motivate me NOT to buy a game...first it has to me a fantacy game, second the display of graphic effects in the combat system, and last but not least...it has to atleast look as though it has a compelling story line. i love midevil meets a good kickin'.
without graphical display in the combat system, the fights are not only long but sleep inducing lol. im not into "run and gun" "run over the hooker" "rts" type… See More
games. just never really did anything for me. i absolutely love emersing myself into midevil times where if there was a gun...its a blunderbus lol. a constant evolving land is also a must, why shouldnt the land evolve with you and your training?
