What Motivates me to purchase a game, I would have to say a couple of things really, first off is if I have seen it being played before and it catches my attention, a Good Story in some Games, sometimes things that either look Challenging or has fast paced fun. Possibly a good Discount on the game I am looking at to buy. My final thing is if it can make me be immersed in the game for so long that I look up and nearly half or all the day has gone by.

Sometimes it's only just to collect them, others by their narrative and gameplay.

Forgot to mention. I like games that offers playable demos. If I enjoy replaying the demo, I place it on my wishlist and start saving
It also helps when the dev. team share their development progress for the current game, addons and such. It makes the game even more worthwhile. Because they're not only in it for the money, but to share a new creation

NOTHING sucks me into a game like well developed characters and a riveting story.

My only requirement to buy a game is to determine if I can get a satisfactory amount of enjoyment from it.
