Motivation to purchase a game is the story and the length of game play with lots of extra Easter egg content to find and figure out, last but not least the graphics.

The biggest factor would be the game's story, kind of like how they did all of the classic final fantasy games. I remember being able to play FF4 on my Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP and just being absolutely immersed in it's story, I didn't see that game as 8bit pixel art, I saw it as a whole new world on it's own and I ended up purchasing the same game when it was remade on the PSP, I can safely say I have no regrets

I would buy games that are hard to finish and have a long story line.

I'm usually motivated to purchase a game by reading reviews or recommendations from a friend.

By being permanently disabled - the money's scare and life's expansive - my choices are limited.
While perusing those pricy tittles, one thing freeze my wallet: where are those playable demos gone (it's similar to a vehicle and a test-drive), cuz I've been tremendously traumatized by those videos of game-play showing the only few seconds of fun in a mostly boring/unplayable game
Still, I like lots of different kind of PC games to alleviate my pain and suffering through the last days of my… See More

The story has to be good, graphics has to be good as long as it doesn't look like crap (such as Aliens Colonial Marines) and good controls. Gameplay is also important. There are times I like simplistic gameplay and no story like One Finger Death Punch.

My motivation varies from time to time. Before Aliens Colonial Marines, I follow the hype of the game through news or watching trailers. Trailers show the gameplay, graphics and how the game will be fun. Also the E3 demo videos also build the hype for… See More

me. Those alone made me buy the game without waiting on game reviews. Ever since Aliens Colonial Marines, that game showed you how developers can destroy your expectation. Also the way DLC is being handled lately.

What I look for in a game to purchase is replay value with its storytelling and character development.

I'm also a sucker for a good plot twist!

I am looking for adventure, and excellent storytelling. If a game like that exists, I shall buy it.

When I really liked the prequel to games, I'd buy games almost instantly. But reviews are important as well.

My interest in the story that the game tells, the "better" or more captivating tale that I believe the game will bring motivates me to make the purchase.
