Just a quick heads-up and fair warning: this is a bit of a lengthy post, but would definitely appreciate any input some folks with experience (especially with boats and trailers) may be willing to offer! Well, I've got a new prescription for glasses - turns out I didn't need the sunglasses after all, lol! From the looks of things, my eye health is good, so that's obviously great news to hear. There was mention of just watching for - can't rightly recall exactly now, but, essentially, something about… See More
reading and such in around my 40s if I remember correctly. Ever since I heard of #Gunnar some years back, through #Razer, I was interested in them, but my mom's of the opinion I need to stick with a professional place that deals in glasses like Lens Crafters or Pearl Vision - it annoys me because she just seemingly doesn't listen to any of the information I've attempted to give her regarding them.
Anyway, after finishing up there, we ended up making a bit of an outing of the day. My mom's been interested in the possibility of a trailer, so we went out to take a look at some. We actually went last year, but she was a bit put off because, as she puts it, the sales guy kind of put a damper on it for, and didn't much care for the sales tactics - she's apparently a salesperson's worst nightmare, since she doesn't get distracted with their pitches, and knows what she wants. Well, she ended up seeing him today, and he definitely seemed a little aloof, so to speak; she hypothesizes it's because he remembers her and the fact the sale didn't happen - we had gone out to meet him last year at a scheduled time, after he had phoned her numerous times in an effort to pressure the sale (according to her), and he wasn't there, which prompted her to kind of blow it off at the time because she was annoyed. In any case, we got to see one of the trailers (apparently, my mom claims it isn't the same one from last year, but was similar) - a 2022 Forest River RV Cherokee Wolf Pup 16PF - and looked pretty decent. She's tossing and turning a bit over it; she liked that and another one that's a bit bigger, and is a bit worried about waiting and never actually getting one, but isn't too keen on the guy and the thought of him getting a commission off the sale, lol! Any fellow #GTribers in to such things able/willing to offer any advice/recommendations?
Shortly after, we ran across a marina and took a quick look around. It didn't take my mom long to spot a boat she liked (see above photo for description). Apparently, what drew her to it was the fact that her and cousins, back when they were younger, used to enjoy some time on a boat that looked pretty similar. It's an old one, but, as the sales guy put it, was babied (apparently stored for many years) and looks to be in amazing shape with no rips/tears - apparently, fuel/oil may need an inspection, but did start up when they recently tested it, and was only put out for sale a couple weeks ago. I'm by no means knowledgeable in the area, but the price seems a little high to me, personally - anyone here in to boats and able to give their opinion?
Thanks in advance to anyone able/willing to give some input; I would certainly appreciate the feedback!
