So I'm liking StaxRip more and more. They have added more predefined IVTC deinterlace profiles. Which allows you to remove the interlace from old DVDs where the footage was shot at 24p, but designed in the end product for interlaced TVs. There is an anime specific one where it takes out any ghosting as well (Some were notoriously bad).
My original method was IVTC along with a custom QTGMC to catch any interlace frames missed. This way is a LOT FASTER to encode!
