Been chaos the last few days. Somehow PC auto updated and ran a SRTTRAIL.TXT error, and got stuck in an infinite loop. Worked around there with disabling auto repair and then got a mbamelam error where early anti malware file was missing and BSOD. Had to turn early anti malware function off and now I managed to get back into desktop. I don't even have malwarebytes installed! Then PC started randomly rebooting and I have no clue why. leaving crumbs of issues to have to fix up after.
Tried DISM.exe command prompts and ones like sfc /scannow and no issues. I have no friggin idea whats going on and it seems like a W11 reset seems like the best idea.
Anyone else out of the blue issues with windows/updates?

If you can get to a command prompt, which your use of DSIM and SFC would suggest you can.
You could try deleting the service which might be loading the driver.
May require admin privileges though, unsure how you get there from CMD alone.
sc delete MbamElam
Or delete or rename the file, found at C WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\MbamElam.sys
I don't know your knowledge of the command prompt, so will try to give instructions for those.

CD \windows\system32\drivers
-- To delete the file
del MbamElam.sys
-- To rename it
ren MbamElam.sys Mbam.Elam.sys.backup

No issues with W11 updates lately.
I even updated a few PCs at work to 26H2 build 9550. Still, no issues. One experimental / test-PC at home too is now running 26H2.9550, no issues.
sorry, no idea how to solve "SRTTRAIL.TXT error", yet.
Have You tried the "In-Place-Upgrade" re-install? It resolves vast majority of weird issues of all kinds... it is ALMOST as efficient as a clean install.
GL!

Srttrail is the worst. Dism then Sfc couldn't save it. I did try a system restore once and got lucky but that was only the one time.
