Fiat currencies eventually return to their intrinsic value, zero.
As with life* expectancy, the longevity of reserve currency may lengthen over time.
However, time is not on our side. The U.S. dollar has had a nice run as the reserve currency of the world. That run is definitely coming to an end. Exactly how it happens will be most interesting. Perhaps even unique, given the state of world currencies today.
