As a bat, your friend would be an 'unauthorized pet'. As a human, your friend has the strength of 10 Vulcans, so even if overnight guests are prohibited it is unlikely the landlord will get all garlicky about it.   hehehe i got the 13th Like

The consensus is they have to be invited in by someone that lives there and that Vampires invented the welcome mat to bypass the request step.

Peasants never owned anything, even noblemen only held a revokable deed that accompanies their title.

Vampires, good or evil spirits, anything requiring you to welcome them into your HOME, just requires it to be your HOME.

This is why we don't have a welcome mat.

EDIT: A little more; people still do this stuff, but when Bram Stoke, and earlier folklore was prevalent, people blessed their homes, smudged spirits out, salted sills. SO, you had to invite the evildoer!

Depends on the wording I suppose, and what legally that means.
Could the rights of the vampire therefore be different in different countries, or smaller regions.
