OBEY

Back in 2014, I found this gem stuck in Steam Greenlight for months. Couldn't get an audience. Couldn't get the votes necessary to get into the Steam Store.

I promoted OBEY (the first game that I ever promoted) and got it into the Steam Store in two days. It has been on early access since. Until 10 days ago when the full version was released. Positive reviews are coming in. 6 years of labor from an independent one man development team has come to fruition.

OBEY on Steam
OBEY is an asymmetrical multiplayer game. We've all played games where you send commands to teammates or AI units. OBEY instead puts you in the position to command your enemies (human opponents), and to be commanded by them. Players are always free to obey/disobey.

Seem to remember a battle royale where after a player dies, they can either aid or hinder other players.
Either way, certainly an interesting idea.
