GameSessions is giving away a couple free games... Tropico 4 and Hitman Absolution.
I have mixed feeling about all these non-Steam game provider sites (whatever they are officially called) popping up left and right. While I think it is great that Steam has some competition, it is nice to have all my games in one or two spots. A quick count of my desktop icons looks like I have games in 9 different places now, plus a Humble Bundle account. This is starting to get out of hand to the point that I… See More
need to create my own database to keep track of everything.
And the biggest plus about Steam is that downloads are fast. With my 115 Mbps connection, I can download a GB of actual data per minute from there. Right now with GameSessions, it has taken over 30 minutes just to download 2.7 GBs. Granted, not all sites are this slow, but in my experience, they all are a fraction of the speed that you get with Steam.
Gamesessions is partnering with some third party company. The game is free, for the price of ads popping up every now and then. Nothing annoying like in mobile games, thankfully. And, yeah, only singleplayer is available. If someone wants multiplayer included (depending on the title), bummer: the player is encouraged to buy a game on Steam in that case.
