Last night I had a suprise visit from mister lightning thru telefon lines and he walked thru my router ,tv box, hdmi input on lcd tv and my good ex friend motherboard thru ethernet cable.... fried it all... good news is that cpu,memory,hd and the rest is ok but must go on a hunt for new used motheboard. Ive put ups for protection and didnt even think about this posibility.... damm that back door. Hope this hellps someone that didnt think of this scenario like me.

You might look into a GIGABYTE board as well. the LGA775 boards are tougher to find nowadays, but I am fairly certain they are still floating around the EU in a few places.
