My nephew, who reads and watches everything he can about technology, but if he see's one bad thing about something, then he will research other bad things about it, then all he has is bad advise about that thing.
He says that there are mostly bad reviews about the 5700 series as a whole, and even when it's being reviewed, it has crashed because it has gotten too hot.
He has also said that the temperatures were getting as high as 110°c, and when asked AMD said that, that was normal.

Those cards are good. Just make sure you get a one with aftermarket cooling with open-air (2-3 fans) instead of a reference cooler that uses blower style.
The reference blower-style cooler is quite loud and not that good at cooling the cards.
Check Sapphire Pulse cards, GIGABYTE Windforce, and Powercolor Red Devil. Those have great coolers on the 5700 and 5700XT models. Te one from MSI has thermal issues (bad thermal pads) that can be solved by opening the card and redoing the pads and TIM.… See More

Winning the XFX graphics card would be awesome, my R9 290 is dying, it has a constant rattling noise at high RPM's, and as it gets hot fairly easily these days, it stays at high RPM's most of the time

I agree with dot. I use EKWB on my 2700x and it's perfect. Since I changed to the 2700x from the 1600x, my temps when hardcore gaming/mining or benchmarking have not gone above 60c.
As for ram, unless you are using a 244hz monitor, going from 2400 to 3200 will only result in *maybe* an extra 3-10 fps. There have been a number of video's that show gaming on a 60-144 hz monitor show nil to very low fps increases with higher ram speeds. If your GPU only pumps out say 120fps on your 120mhz… See More

Don't get the 3800XT, it offers nothing above the 3700X except the higher price.
