MechWarrior Online is a real-time game where one day in the real world is equal to one day in the game. January 1, 2012 is equal to January 1, 3049. Players take the role of piloting BattleMechs, and can align themselves with one of the Great Houses, form their own Mercenary Corporation, or play as a lone wolf. Of note for this particular timeline in the MechWarrior universe is the impending arrival of the Clans upon the Inner Sphere Houses. It can be extrapolated that this may be the direction MechWarrior Online will head after launch of the basic game.
Why? This is the game I have played more hours of than any other game in the last 10 years.
Why? I have been playing this since 2013 and have loved it. Great game, not 100% perfect but I would definitely recommend it.
Why? It's not classic battletech in terms of strategy and tactics (and let's face it, with most of the quick match-ups, it's not even Mario Brothers in terms of strategy and tactics) but it's solid good fun.
Why? Been a fan since the first mechwarrior was released.
Why? While still underdeveloped in that its community warfare aspect is nowhere near its intended design (yet), the random deathmatch aspect is an extremely fun time sink.
Why? cause Giant Stompy Robots!!!
Why? Giant robots with lasers and jetpacks. Yes, please!
Why? Mechwarrior is the only thing I really play online anymore. I have loved the Battletech franchise ever since I was introduced to it in 1994. Titles set in this universe are what keep me gaming.
