Hello everyone, long time no see.
Back with a quick post.
We are seeing alot of games utilising alot of VRAM sometimes more than 12. Is this poor optimisation or are we just heading towards new standards when it comes to pc gaming? What do you think?

It's a conspiracy! GPU manufacturers paying game devs/producers to gate the only settings that look good behind a high VRAM requirement so that you will feel the need to upgrade your GPU!

People don't get that we had 8GB VRAM since 2015. And that the devs had to optimize for older consoles. No longer.

Given the size of games I'd say it could also be a side effect of compartmentalisation within modern developers. If you have to have different teams doing various parts of a game, it must be incredibly difficult to sew it all together and get it to run properly.

good evening ladies and gents I would like to get your views on Windows 11, I have just installed the preview and it looks quite smart so far. There are a few aspects that I am not to keen on 1 being the new settings menu, everything just seems to be all over the place with it and the same with the taskbar icons near your clock, you no longer from what I can see change your audio from headphones to speakers quickly you now have to go through sound settings to be able to do it.

also as soon as I loaded… See More

into windows I moved the start bar from the centre of my screen back to the left where it should be unless you are a mac user and have always had it there. The start menu has also changed from having all your apps show straight away it shows your pins first then you have to click the all applications button to show your installed apps, if someone knows how to fix it I would like to know please

Will you be upgrading to Windows 11 when it is released

I will upgrade but not soon for the budget plus new hardware is coming out as long as I have support I will wait a year or two and upgrade later

I kinda need to for my clients. I'm partially considering the idea of throwing an old laptop I have that has an AMD E6 APU into the ringer. It is a crap laptop, and I don't expect it to work well after bypasses as even giving it an SSD made it slightly better... it still is rather bad. But, I hear about performance imporovements so I kinda want to see if the performance improvement really is there that maybe on some clients, it could be worth it (for those that qualify on the upgrade). Personally,… See More

I'm in the boat that if you have a PCIe 4 SSD and something like a R9 5900X or 5950X or even the newer Intel i7/i9 11th gen that any performance gain that people say they feel is more of a placebo effect cause I have a hard time believing the performance being that visually noticeable.

Whats Microsoft doing

As of Jully 22nd Microsoft is shutting down it own streaming service Mixer and partenering up with Facebook to bring us Facebook gaming which is Facebooks new streaming service, Microsoft had announced that they had taken Ninja and Shroud from Twitch to try and get more people to stream on Mixer but it went and failed to reach the audience they were looking for. Youtube and Twitch were far to established for Mixer to make any difference and Facebook gaming even had a bigger audience… See More

than mixer as well, Microsoft is hoping if they collaborate with Facebook they will hit the high amout of audience the are looking for.

With Microsoft failing in the past with Groove Music and signed a a deal with Spotify it looks like the are doing the same thing again.

Microsoft are looking to hit its 2 billion users with Facebook gaming and push its new service Xcloud for seemless streaming and able to join people games by just clicking on the game that is being played, it was stated that they made the decision because Mixer wasnt getting the figures necessary and didnt really want to pump more money into something that didnt work. Hopefully this collaboration will work and we will see Xcloud coming to Facebook games in the near future.

I like xcloud, I can play console games I can't with the pc subscriptions and usually can play them when out fishing, like stadia that also gives you a console version. The only time I used Facebook gaming was when they gave free loot to gta5
