well this guy caught it early. here's the thing. If i built something, I want it to last. I don't want to keep checking and waiting if something is not alright with the PC. I want to be able to use it without worry.

It's just not a good design. Everything related to it, the connectors, the cables, and the missing circuitry that once could monitor the current. It's all about cutting costs to them, yet, GPU prices are astronomically high, most priced out of a gaming budget.
