Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn is a party-based role-playing game using the AD&D rules. Why? Still way ahead of most modern RPG attempts. If you want to give it a try, and I'm sure you'd be overwhelmed and completely drawn in by it, opt for the Enhanced Edition.
