Was the very first game I played that had a nice story that changed with gameplay. Before this it was something that was limited to text adventures from studios such as Infocom. Cinemaware. There were graphic RPG's at the time too, but they required much (like a couple notebooks worth) of note taking as they didn't keep track of quests you were on, nor where you were in the chain. they ported this to the Commodore 64 without really removing anything, the only sacrifices 16 colors instead of 32, speed and digital audio. But the music is better on the C64 version.
I loved defender of the crown. I still play it. Not as much. But had my first playing of it with an apple 2 gs
