Has anyone played Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice? I'm about 30-40 minutes into the game and I am bored as hell. Trying to find the symbols to open the gates is just boring as hell to me. Never mind the fact that, so far, anytime you fight someone, you fight 5 of them at the same time.
Does it get better? Is it worth playing? (The graphics are pretty nice.)
Sort of the fighting spirits is rough so many at once

It's boring till you open the main door. Then it's roller coaster ride

Yes the symbols puzzles are boring and disrupt the game flow. The combat is good once you figure out proper timing for blocking and dodging. It’s really more of an experience game than amazing gameplay. I’m part way through and I definitely empathize with your frustrations

The game has some mind blowing riddles - puzzles and its main theme isn't the fighting but its story. Puzzles can be a bit overwhelming but not unsolvable.

In terms of general gameplay, it's nothing special. In terms of experience and the way they portray psychosis, I loved it from the very start! Best experience I've had in a game! I was so gripped by it that I finished it in a single day (11 hours).
The symbol solving isn't for everyone, and tends to be the main complaint I've seen from people, but I thought it worked well. You get a moment of calm, or even frustration while you struggle with some of them, all the while the voices are arguing or telling… See More
you how much you suck. Those changes in emotion, combined with the voices and other sounds really made the game for me.
Make sure you use headphones, as the devs recommended. It makes a big difference with the experience.
If you watch the feature at the end, you'll also see why things like the symbols were included.
