Ok let's discuss:
Many GTribers want tip build their PC themselves, but if you were looking for a company to do it for you, what would be most important?

Overall, price would be a huge factor. But if for saving a few bucks you're stuck with a warranty, then it wouldn't be worth it. So I'd prefer warranty

The overall value is probably the most important but can't be the only reason, I mean you could save money at one place but then be stuck with a warranty that is pure hell. So a balance of both is really what I'd do, but the overall price and value would be my starting point. If you're buying for social status alone, you're buying stuff for the wrong reasons.

in general my view is thus;
warranty (after sales service) comes under value per $, if its a poor warranty service it better be less than half the price of everything else around to make it even appear as a contender in my book and I'm still going to insist they use certain parts (like a minimum of an 80+ gold psu thats at least 200watts higher rated than the total system draw) and be using high end parts (things that come with a 5yr warranty) otherwise its just better all round to DIY.... and maybe… See More
purchase a couple of customised parts like the vanity panel or a modded front/top/side panel or a gpu bracket if it fits my case and styling...

Price is important to me. But I'd also like to see some customization options. Like custom painting or etching.
