well given the price of the 120gb (or larger) ssd and a usb3 caddy it often works out cheaper to make the portable ssd than to buy the usb3 memory stick..... personally I have both, and the drive is harder to forget or loose when you unplug it, and thats ignoring the fact you can make it a bootable drive and literally make any pc into your personal one unlike most usb memory sticks it will last for a long time as well...

I just made a portable SSD yesterday, it is miles faster than my USB 3.0 flash drive.

Portable SSD, or you can get memory sticks I think Kingston has some with an ssd controller.
