My bread is taking forever to bake! The insides are still very doughy while the outside is golden brown. I have the loaves wrapped in aluminum foil so hopefully I can avoid burning the crust while still baking the inside.

Could be that your oven is set too high for the size of the loaf you are trying to make. I have had that happen a few times while making cakes - outside gets cooked before the heat can permeate enough to the center to cook it.
