I remember that back when I was a little kid (8-10 or so years old) I thought that you could only buy PCs pre-made and replacing parts was something only a skilled technician could do. Then, when I've first heard of de-lidding 2-3 years ago I thought the same thing - that it required specialised tools and had to be done in a controlled environment by a specialist (sort of like working on an open HDD). Now I wonder, what will fool me like that next!

It's remarkable how little liquid metal it takes to actually do the appropriate job in cooling the CPU. Too much and it won't transfer heat to the IHS properly, and user ends up with little to no benefit of cooler temperatures they were going for in the first place. Notice how he removed a small amount of the liquid metal before re-mating the parts back together. Well done guys.
