Im helping out production at work by doing some quality control inspection to get numbers up today. So, I have 100 leather hides to inspect and I get a call before I'm due to start them.
It's the manager I'm helping out. He says he has done me a favour and inspected 40.
Some people don't understand the concept of help do they?
It's me helping him, so if he does some, then surely he's just doing the job he is paid for - am I right?
Sheesh!

While it is helping, you are causing the hide to cost more spending your time on it, rather than someone that might getting paid less than you to do the same, while you could be doing something else that is more relevant to your pay. While I am like you, I like to help EVERYWHERE I can, the manager has to look at it at a cost perspective, now selling the hide for what he is selling it for, he is likely taking more of a hit on it, probably still making a profit, but less of a profit now.
