GTRIBE RELEASES SAMI CONNECT (BETA)
SAMI Connect™ is a sophisticated Internet telecommunications system (developed by Mass Luminosity and powered by Twilio) that offers GTribe members the opportunity to make local and international calls to landlines and mobile phones, right from the GTribe network - either on a web browser or on the GTribe app [gtribe.io/app] while using an Internet-connected device (PC, laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.).
Today, we're inviting 200 LUX members to be the first to test SAMI Connect for 30 days. Each LUX member has received a full 60 minutes of talk-time to make local or international calls at no cost.
Carefully follow these steps to activate SAMI Connect:
(1) Associate a telephone number with SAMI Connect - Go to gamingtribe.com/controlpanel/connect and associate an accessible telephone number with SAMI Connect. Just follow the instructions to verify the number.
(2) Import your contacts using a mobile device - Click the phone icon on the navigation bar of the GTribe mobile app and select contacts and then import them.
(3) Sort your contacts into favorites and add images - Click the star icon to add a contact to your favorite list (will move it to the top of the list) and click the empty profile image to upload a photo of your contact.
(4) Click a telephone number for one of your contacts - Clicking on a telephone number will initiate a WiFi call and the recipient will see the verified number you associated with your SAMI Connect account, unless our AI determines that the call should be re-routed through our servers to access lower costs. The sound quality should be equal to a regular phone call and you can initially call up to 86 countries.
Note: You need Internet access (WiFi or Ethernet) to make calls.
Our goal is to provide our members with the most advanced cost-effective Internet-based telecommunications service in the world.

Works just fine. Quality is great, and for those who have their phone off I get the straight voice mail message. Thank you, GTribe for this golden opportunity!

So, kinda like Google Voice and hangouts? I've used so many over the years since back in the late 90's, it will be cool to see what's new!

Working as advertised for me. No complaints from my mom's end on the quality.

Called my mom, who admittedly only lives an hour or so away. Couldn't think of anyone else to call and she wanted to hear about the kid's 1st day of school anyway.
While the call initially connected there was a bit of a *zap* on the line in intervals. Once it connected, I didn't notice much of anything, but my mom said I "stuttered" or "cut out" from time to time. I started to notice that at the end of the conversation though when I was obviously missing a word or half a word from her end. Her… See More
caller ID showed my cell # (as opposed to "missouri caller" when I call normally). I didn't notice any difference in the voice quality as opposed to calling her normally on my cell. For the opportunity to talk to people overseas, I don't see these things as any sort of hindrance. Wonderful!! #progression

I've used it this morning to call the wife. Absolutely no issues at all. Was like I was using my normal carrier. Will use again this afternoon once I've finished work. Great work!
