Greetings GTribers!
I was supposed to post strategy for the Battletech game but due to the recent changes wherein they nerfed long range missiles (LRM) by reducing the effect of stability. Before the changes, you can easily cause instablilty and knockdown 2 or even 3 enemy mechs during your turn. With the changes, you will now have a hard time knocking down even one. Because of the changes I have to check if my strategy is still worth it. It still is.
So the first strategy is the most common among… See More
any Rules of Engagement. SHOCK AND AWE. The idea is to launch a quick attack before any opposing mechs could react or set their mechs in a more advantageous position. You just need all your mechs to move and engage first by targeting the most threatening enemy mech in a lance. All your mechs should focus on the threat and ignoring the others. My lance of four mechs (Atlas 2 (Story), Atlas, Highlander (Story) and King Crab) can incapacitate one heavy or assault mech on the first turn of attack. The same lance can incapacitate 2 medium mechs in the same turn as well. The SHOCK AND AWE strategy allows you to remove a powerful enemy mech before it can fire back at you in retaliation.
Game on!
heh - I can't even get that far - I'm still bumping around on 55t mechs (can't find bigger ones) and I still can't finish the story mission where I have to take out the control tower - I land the 4 55's and get swamped by 10 55+ mechs who manage to wipe my lance out before I get 1/2 way to the tower.
